Recently, during a meetup with a friend, she introduced another friend of hers, Matthias. Matthias is the founder and Owner of Bare Metal Co., a local Metal Fabricator in Singapore.

I reached out to Matthias, asking if he would be interested to have some photos taken. His works had been featured on Tatler, Straits Times, CNA, so the challenge for me was to find other ways to photograph what's already been featured.

The company has a pretty long history of metal fabricating, from letterboxes, to metal sculptures, commercial kitchen equipment, public exhibitions, and more. Anything metal you can think of, they've probably can and have created.

Bare Metal's focus is creating bespoke, metal fabrication tailored to a specific need, be it a metal sculpture showpiece or a fine table made of metal, they are able to create all sorts of wonderful and creative metal structures.

His workshop was full of memorabilia and character, from old Yashica cameras, a Kodak slide projector, various old signs and metal machinery unwanted by other closing metal fabricators of yesteryears.

What was really interesting was knowing his own journey working with metal, and the challenge of doing such work within Singapore. He told me about his recent journey to UK, to further expand his knowledge and expertise of working with metal.

And its a wonderful experience speaking and learning about metal from him, especially from such an open guy. We had a really good time doing the photos and just chilling together!

If you or your company ever need custom metal fabrications made, do reach out to them!
